For the safety of all, students, faculty, and staff are expected to abide by personal safety practices known to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Ways to Stay Safe

All students, faculty, and staff are expected to do the following regardless of vaccination status:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially prior to eating. Hand sanitizer should be used if soap and water are not readily available.
  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands – including your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people and do not shake hands.
  • Adelphi University temporarily reinstated our indoor mask requirement for all individuals at our Garden City, Hauppauge, Hudson Valley and Manhattan locations, as of mid-May 2022.
    • As of June 6, indoor masking became optional, due to improving conditions.
  • 所有咳嗽和打喷嚏时,最好用纸巾遮盖,纸巾使用后可丢弃在密封容器中。在没有纸巾的情况下,用袖子或手肘。
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects including buttons, door handles, counters, workstations, keyboards, etc.

Note: All visitors to campus will be expected to follow these guidelines.

For community members who are sick, the following is expected:

  • 避免分享个人物品。
  • Anyone at high risk for complications or identifying as a member of a vulnerable population should speak with a designated Adelphi official.
  • Adelphi’s quarantine and isolation periodhas been reduced to reflect the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), New York state and the Nassau County Department of Health.
    • COVID-19检测呈阳性的人应隔离至少整整5天,在无法与他人隔离时佩戴口罩,然后在家中和公共场所与他人在一起时再使用合适的口罩5天(症状出现后的第6天至第10天)。
    • Anyone not up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations and who has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 must stay home, away from others for at least five days after the date of the last contact with a person with COVID-19. Seek testing at least five days after the date of the last close contact, and wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days from the date of your last close contact with someone with COVID-19.

Guidance for Face Masks and Coverings

在仍需佩戴口罩的情况下,我们强烈建议使用医用/外科口罩,而非布制口罩。

Appropriate use of face masks or coverings minimizes risk to others near you. To function properly, they must cover your mouth and nose, or you could spread COVID-19 to others—even if you do not feel sick. The mask or cloth face covering is not a substitute for social distancing or proper handwashing.

Adelphi follows theCDC recommendationsfor acceptable face coverings. They include but are not limited to cloth-based face coverings, two-ply gaiters and disposable masks that cover both the mouth and nose;bandanas and buffsare not acceptable face coverings, and masks with valves or vents do not offer adequate protection and should not be used while on campus.

Special Situations
