The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is a campus-wide team that responds to reports from the campus community regarding concerning, disruptive or threatening behaviors by students, employees and others that can lead to potential or actual serious safety issues. The team also discusses general news information on health and safety concerns that may impact the campus community.

The team helps members of the campus community feel safe by reducing risk and by assisting the individual to receive the help needed to address the issues contributing to at-risk behavior. The team meets twice a month to address these important issues.

Note: the BIT was formerly known as University & Community Threat Assessment Team (UCTAT).

Any member of the campus community may become aware of a troubling situation that is causing serious anxiety, stress or fear in or out of class or work. If such a situation appears to be imminent, including the possible immediate risk of violence to self or others,it should be reported immediately to the Department of Public Safety.
