Bridges to Adelphi Services

For individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other nonverbal learning disorders, the support services offered by theBridges to Adelphiteam are designed to provide individualized comprehensive academic, executive functioning, and social support. You will meet with support providers three times per week who will:

  • Develop an individualized plan to address the challenges you may encounter.
  • Reduce procrastination, anxiety, and executive functioning deficits.
  • Improve time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Learning Resource Program Services

For students with a documented learning disability and/or ADHD, theLearning Resource Programteam can provide additional academic support services to help a student establish a strong foundation for academic success. Students who participate in the Pre-College Program and select support services through the Learning Resource Program will:

  • Meet one-on-one with an assigned Master’s level Learning Specialist three times a week.
  • Develop an individualized academic plan to address their academic challenges and be successful in their Pre-College Program class.
  • Receive coaching on executive functioning, study skills, test-taking strategies, organization, time management, and more.
  • Participate in small-group seminars once a week on choosing the right college and self-advocacy.

Accessibility Support Services

The Student Access Officeprovides cost-free assistance and services that are tailored to meet the needs of individuals based on their specific, appropriately documented disabilities, including neurodevelopmental, sensory, mental health, and physical.

If you have a disability that may significantly impact your ability to fully participate in the Pre-College Program and are seeking accommodations, please complete thePetition for Reasonable Accommodations and Academic Adjustmentsonline form. In addition, you must submit recent, valid documentation of the disability, provided by a qualified medical or other licensed professional. Documentation can be submitted via the online form or by email tosao@adelphi.edu. When possible, please allow for a reasonable time frame for requesting services; a minimum of four (4) weeks prior to the start of the Pre-College Program may be necessary.
