If you choose an on-campus Pre-College Program experience, learn about college life by immersing yourself on Adelphi’s beautiful Garden City campus.

Housing

You will live in Residence Hall A, a state-of-the-art building located adjacent to Swirbul Library and near the softball and baseball fields. You’ll share a hotel-style room with two other students in your program, featuring private bathrooms and individual climate control including air conditioning. There are also lounges and free laundry facilities on every floor!

While living on campus, you will have access to 24/7 staffing from our highly-trained Peer Advisers and professional administrators. Your safety and well-being is our top priority, so Public Safety and a 24-hour on-call Nurse or EMT is one quick phone call away!

Dining Services

You’ll enjoy meals in Post Hall Café, an all-you-care-to eat dining hall that includes hot and cold entrees, a deli, grill, salad bar, and pizza station, as well as Panther Mart, a convenience store for grab-and-go items. All you have to do is show the cashier your Pre-College Program ID card!

Just want to grab some coffee? You can stop by Paws Café, conveniently located in the Nexus Building right next door to Residence Hall A. Paws Café is a barista-style coffee bar with premium coffee and tea beverages (we proudly serve Starbucks), and a wide variety of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, pastries, desserts and more. Your ID card will also allow you to make purchases at Starbucks and the Marketplace in our newly renovated and state-of-the-art University Center.

Do you require dietary modifications or have food allergies? Take a look at our additional student services to see how we can meet your individual dining needs.

Social Activities

Getting involved on campus is one of the best parts of the college experience and the activities we offer during Pre-College Program are no exception! From toasting marshmallows for s’mores at the grill to an impromptu kickball game on the quad, you and your friends will always have something to do. Don’t forget to sign-up for the trip to the Friday Night Promenade on 7th Street, or to attend our annual Adelphi Bound Scavenger Hunt and Panther Dance Party!

In addition to the nightly social activities, you will have access to the indoor track, gymnasium courts, and pool in our Center for Recreation and Sports. Please note that hours for the track, courts, and pool vary day to day.

College 101 Workshops

Led by experts in the Office of University Admissions, Student Financial Services, and Center for Career and Professional Development, our College 101 Workshops will answer all your questions about searching for and applying to college! Learn about the college essay, what it means to find the “best fit” college for you, and what skills you need to be successful in college and beyond.

All workshops include a short presentation and are immediately followed by a question and answer session. Have a personal question just for the presenter? Stay behind a bit to speak with the expert one-on-one or grab a business card- let us know what we can do to make sure you’re ready for college!
