支持和协助整个大学的评估工作。

Adelphi University demonstrates a strong commitment to systematic and sustainable assessment. The University has a long history of using assessment to inform planning so as to improve institutional effectiveness. OARAA’s responsibilities include data review and maintenance to insure data integrity, internal and external reporting, benchmarking, and assessment and evaluation activities. In addition to routine reporting to federal and state governmental agencies and other external organizations, OARAA’ provides standard and ad hoc internal reporting to the University community. The Office provides campus-wide information through its annual Adelphi Data Book that includes trend data on admissions, new student enrollment, enrollment, retention and graduation, degrees granted, faculty, courses, financial aid, finance and administration, library, and national comparisons.

Assessment activities encompass all facets of the University and pertain to enrolled students, student learning, faculty, admitted students, graduating students, trustees, administrative operations, alumni and employees. OARAA’ is responsible for producing regularly scheduled reports including those sent to federal and state agencies, and internal reporting pertaining to such areas as admissions, enrollment, faculty hiring, diversity, teaching, courses, and national comparisons. A majority of these reports, survey findings, and other research are disseminated to the Board of Trustees, senior staff, deans, faculty, staff and pertinent University committees.

In addition to the regularly scheduled surveys, OARAA’ administers theCampus Pulse. This type of survey is conducted in an attempt to assess perceptions, attitudes, or behaviors about a particular subject; it is not concerned about representativeness, but rather, seeks to gauge opinions on pertinent issues. These are administered on an as needed basis and in recent semesters have pertained to such topics as social media, course evaluations, internships, smartphones, and housekeeping.
