Application process:Eligibility is determined upon Adelphi’s receipt of your processed FAFSA and is based upon the federally-calculatedExpected Family Contribution (EFC). Students should complete and file the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1

Range of awards:For the 2022-2023 academic year the Federal Pell Grant ranges from a minimum of $692 per year to a maximum of $6,895 per year.

Eligibility:Eligibility for the Federal Pell grant is calculated using theExpected Family Contribution (EFC)that is calculated by the federal government when you file your FAFSA. The EFC is calculated according to a formula that is established by law. Federal Pell Grants are usually awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree.

The Higher Education Act (HEA) limits thelifetime eligibilityto receive a Federal Pell Grant to 12 full-time semesters or the equivalent of 600 percent. This information is available on your SAR.

Transfer students who have received Federal Pell Grant from another institution during the same award year will have their award calculated based upon the percentage of Pell that was used at the prior institution. Federal regulations require that we request, through the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), updated information about any current year disbursements, so that your award is accurate and does not exceed any federally mandated maximums.

The FSEOG program provides grants to students who demonstrate an exceptional financial need to help meet the costs of their post-secondary education. Students must be eligible for the federal Pell Grant before the FSEOG can be awarded. Awards are generally granted to those students with the lowest EFC.

Application process:Eligibility is determined upon Adelphi’s receipt of your processed FAFSA. Students should complete and file the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure maximum eligibility. Priority deadlines apply.

Range of awards:$100 to $4,000. Each participating school receives a certain amount of FSEOG funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid. Once the full amount of the school’s FSEOG funds has been awarded to students, no more FSEOG awards can be made for that year.
