A Department Head/Dean must have sufficient budget allocation of College Work Study (4181) and/or Campus Employment (4180) funding before recruiting student employees. Departments seeking student employees should contact the Center for Career and Professional Development for assistance in the search process. Newly hired students must not begin to work until they have been authorized to do so by the Office of Human Resources and only after the student has completed the appropriate paperwork.

International students cannot work more than 20 hours per week while school is in session and 27 hours per week when school is not in session in all departments combined. Other students can only work a maximum of 27 hours in all positions combined.
