Reason for Policy

The reason for this policy is to provide guidelines for the temporary freezing of salaries for non-union employees due to the financial impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Global Pandemic.

As part of Adelphi University’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, effective immediately and until further notice, all discretionary salary increases for non-union employees, irrespective of funding source(s), are frozen until further notice.

Discretionary salary increases are those increases provided to non-union employees who are remaining in the same position with the same position description, outside of union collective bargaining agreements. Increases that accompany promotions or position reassignments are not included in this policy.
