Types of Malware

• Awormis similar to a computer virus, but it is also capable of traveling without any human action. A worm takes advantage of a file or information transport features on your system to allows it to spread unaided.
• ATrojan horsedisguises itself as useful software but will actually do damage once run on your computer.

How to Protect Yourself

Adelphi provides all resident students with a copy of the Symantec Antivirus Client, available through your RA, RHD or at the Help Desk in Swirbul Library.

Lab computers and University-issued office computers also come installed with antivirus software.
