Through Prep for Success, I developed a confidence and willingness to take strategic risks. By allowing me to hone in on my resume, LinkedIn, and interview skills, I felt comfortable enough to work on improving other areas of my development. I centered my focus on volunteerism, learning through my placement in the Jaggar Community Fellows Program, and in networking with employers. The connections I made through Prep for Success allowed me to create lasting partnerships and led me to a full-time position and graduate school. Through Prep for Success, I was able to direct my goals and work towards establishing my personal brand.
What Do You Need To Complete The Program?
Choose One of the Following Paths:
TheInternship Preparation Seminaris a 1-credit, Pass/Fail course designed to help you achieve enhanced learning and experiential results. This hands-on, interactive approach prepares you to better qualify for an internship.
The goal of the Leadership Certificate Program is for undergraduate and graduate students to develop leadership and professional skills through a wide variety of topics discussed inworkshops.
The Online Career Coach allows you to complete a course of career essentials on your own time. Each unit in the course consists of a LinkedIn Learning video and a short assignment that help hone your professional skills. You can also save the documentation from each unit and use it for future reference.
This option is ideal if you have a busy schedule or can not make it to the Garden City campus regularly.

- Complete your LinkedIn profile.
- A mock interview with one of our career counselors.
- Complete an internship or have work experience in your preferred field of study.

I heard about the program my second year at Adelphi through a couple of friends of mine that also told me about the Leadership Certificate Program. They helped me set up an appointment with Victoria Passarella to learn more about the program. At the time I was trying to expose myself to as much campus resources as possible but the Prep for Success Program stood out to me. It offered the necessary skills needed for professional development and helped me tremendously moving forward with my involvement.
